paramotor training Netherlands. English speaking students welcome
Learn to fly a paramotor with Paramotor Nederland

Paramotor flying is not difficult, and anyone can learn it. At Paramotor Nederland, we provide thorough and professional training. We start on the ground, where you will learn essential ground-handling techniques.
Before you take to the sky on your own, we make sure that your skills are well above the level strictly required for a first solo flight. This gives you confidence, control and peace of mind.
That way, from your very first solo flight, you can focus on what it is really about: enjoying the freedom of flying like a bird.
paramotor licence Netherlands
Have you always dreamed of flying, but never thought you could actually become a pilot?
With a paramotor, you can experience the freedom of aviation in a completely different way. No airport, no expensive aircraft and no long runway. Just you, your paraglider and a lightweight engine that allows you to explore the world from the air.
At Paramotor Nederland, we provide professional paramotor pilot training in the Netherlands for both Dutch and international students.
If you are an expat living in the Netherlands, an international resident or simply looking for a high-quality paramotor training program in Europe, you are very welcome.
Become a qualified paramotor pilot
Our goal is not simply to get you through an exam.
We want you to become a confident and independent paramotor pilot who understands the equipment, the weather, the airspace and, most importantly, how to fly safely.
Your training combines:
- - Practical paramotor training in the Netherlands
- - Groundhandling and paraglider control
- - Take-off and landing techniques
- - Flight exercises
- - Navigation and flight planning
- - Meteorology
- - Airspace and regulations
- - Equipment knowledge
- - Emergency procedures
- - Independent flight preparation
- - An intensive flying week in southern Europe
- - Independent examination
We work with small groups and provide personal instruction. This means that your progress is closely monitored and that we can adapt the training to your individual learning curve.

Why train with Paramotor Nederland?
Small groups – maximum personal attention
We never put large groups of beginners together with one instructor.
Our approach is deliberately personal. This gives you more flying time, more direct feedback and a better understanding of what you are doing.
If you need additional explanation or individual instruction, we are happy to provide it.
We are a full-time paramotor flight school
Paramotor training is highly dependent on weather.
That is why we don't operate like a traditional school with a fixed timetable where lessons simply get cancelled when the weather is unsuitable.
We are active throughout the week and make use of suitable flying conditions whenever possible.
This can significantly accelerate your progress.
Unlike other training providers who offer a fixed training week abroad, you run the risk of losing valuable training days due to bad weather. If the weather turns against you, your money is still spent.
At Paramotor Nederland, we take a different approach. We provide training all year round, on virtually every flyable day. You decide when it suits you to train.
We offer lessons both during the week and at weekends, whenever the weather allows. There is no winter break and no fixed training week that you have to fit into your schedule.
You choose when you train. We make the most of every flyable day.

paramotor training in English
We train all our students to the highly respected KNVvL standard.
Royal Netherlands Aeronautical Association (KNVvL)
A good command of Dutch is required to take and pass the official KNVvL theory examination. But if you are an English-speaking student, we have a solution. The training is structured around a comprehensive combination of theory and practical flying, giving you a solid foundation to become a safe and independent paramotor pilot.
A KNVvL training programme involves at least three times as many flights as the minimum required for an APPI training programme. This gives you significantly more practical experience before you start flying independently.
The result is a much broader foundation of flying skills, experience and confidence. When you eventually arrive at a flying field on your own, you are not simply qualified to fly — you have the experience and confidence to fly independently and make good decisions in a wide range of situations.
Your final practical examination is conducted by an examiner who is independent of our flight school. This provides an objective and independent assessment of your flying skills.
Train in the Netherlands and fly in better weather
One of the biggest challenges when learning to fly a paramotor in northern Europe is the weather. Instead of relying entirely on the often unpredictable Dutch weather, part of your training takes place during an intensive flying week in a location with more reliable flying conditions.
Depending on the training programme and weather conditions, we travel to Portugal or Italy.
You fly to the destination, while we take care of transporting your training equipment.
What is included in the training week?
The cost of the intensive flying week is already included in your training fee. There are no additional costs for the training week itself. Your training week includes:
Intensive paramotor flight training
Transport of your equipment to and from the destination
Shared rental cars at the destination
All transport during the training week
Hotel accommodation in a private room
Breakfast and lunch
The only things you need to arrange yourself are your flights to and from the destination, evening meals and personal expenses.
The purpose of this week is simple:
Fly as much as possible, build experience and make rapid progress towards becoming an independent pilot.
This is not a holiday with a little flying on the side. It is an intensive training week, specifically designed to maximise your flying time and accelerate your development as a pilot.

Your own equipment
By the time of the intensive flying week, we expect you to have your own paramotor equipment. Training with your own equipment is important because it allows you to become familiar with the equipment you will continue to use after completing your course.
Don't have your own equipment yet? No problem. You can rent a complete training setup from us for the duration of the week. This allows you to participate in the intensive flying week without having to purchase your own equipment beforehand.
KNVvL paramotor training
Training for international students
International students follow the complete KNVvL training programme, receiving the same comprehensive training as Dutch-speaking students. Once the training has been successfully completed, English-speaking students can obtain their APPI licence instead.
This means you benefit from the full KNVvL training programme and standards, while still being able to complete your training and obtain a licence without having to speak Dutch.
If, at a later stage, your Dutch language skills have reached the level required to take the Dutch theory examination, we help you free of charge to obtain the Dutch KNVvL licence. You will not need to take any additional training or lessons.

Paramotor training – additional costs, clear and transparent
Besides the training fee, there are a few additional expenses you should take into account. We list them below so you know exactly what to expect and are not faced with unexpected costs later.
Paramotor training can be sweaty work! For hygiene reasons, we do not rent helmets, gloves or flying boots.
Paramotor helmet with a proper communication system Needed when you start to fly solo – essential for clear and reliable communication with your instructor. From approximately €500. We provide you with a radio during your training.
Flying gloves – protect the paraglider lines from perspiration and protect your hands from the lines. Approximately €39.
Flying boots – for foot-launch paramotor training only. We strongly recommend sturdy flying boots with ankle protection, such as Crispi Airborne GTX flying boots, approximately €265. These are recommended but not mandatory.
Travel expenses – during your training you will need to travel to our training and flying sites. Costs depend on the distance between your home and the location. We use several flying fields across South Holland, Utrecht, North Brabant and Zeeland, and the locations may vary depending on weather and flying conditions. You pay a small field-use contribution of several euro's to the landowner per training day.
Return flight to Portugal or Italy – approximately €115–€250.
Evening meals and refreshments in Portugal or Italy – from approximately €20 per day.
Equipment rental and fuel during the training week abroad – depending on whether you choose to purchase or rent your own equipment, the cost is €0 or €1,245 for foot-launch training, or €1,645 for trike training.
Training equipment in the Netherlands – all equipment required for your lessons in the Netherlands is provided by us. There are no additional equipment rental or fuel charges for your Dutch training days.
We believe in being completely transparent about the total cost of your training. No hidden costs and no unpleasant surprises.

Personal attention and individual guidance are at the heart of our paramotor training. Everyone learns differently, so we adapt the training to your individual learning curve rather than forcing you into a fixed schedule.
Online theory saves you valuable time. Need some extra help? We are happy to provide additional theory lessons free of charge.
Small training groups – never more than three beginners per instructor.
Complete cost transparency – all costs are clearly explained in advance. No hidden costs and no surprises.
Our goal is to stand out through efficient progression and one of the highest possible pass rates for the national theory examination.
Once you have obtained your licence, you become part of our paramotor community. You stay in touch with current and former students and are welcome to join our flying weekends and flying trips.
Private lessons are available if you prefer individual instruction.
Payment in instalments over 12 months is available.
Safety comes first
During your training, safety is our highest priority. Any student who flies independently without a licence and without an instructor will be immediately excluded from our training programme. In such a situation, there is no entitlement to a full or partial refund of the training fees.
Experience you can build on
The combination of 23 years of experience in air sports, including 13 years of paramotor experience, and 27 years of entrepreneurial experience from the founder of Paramotor Nederland, combined with the extensive knowledge and expertise of Skydance, with 27 years of paramotor experience and 24 years as a qualified instructor, gives us an exceptionally strong foundation for your flying career.
Our aim is simple: to give you the knowledge, skills, experience and confidence to become a safe and independent paramotor pilot.
Already a paraglider pilot?
Then you may be able to progress considerably faster.
If you already have solid paragliding experience, you don’t need to start from zero.
We can assess your existing experience and focus your training on the areas that are specific to powered paragliding.
This includes:
Paramotor handling
Engine operation
Powered take-offs
Powered landings
Emergency procedures
Paramotor-specific theory
Navigation
Regulations
Practical flying
We also offer a specific conversion program from paragliding to paramotor flying.
Live in another country?
You don’t necessarily have to live in the Netherlands to train with us. For international students, we offer an intensive flying week abroad. This can be particularly attractive on the way to your APPI license.
You can combine your training with a stay in Italy or Portugal during our week there and enjoy a flying experience in southern Europe.
